Just Reference Privacy Policy

EPM Dynamics ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Just Reference mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it.

1. Overview

Just Reference helps you save, organise, search, and re-open useful references such as links, posts, notes, images, documents, and other files that you choose to add or share into the App.

The App is designed as a private personal reference library. It is not a social network, does not let users add friends, and does not provide Just Reference-to-Just Reference sharing.

2. Information You Provide

When using the App, you may choose to add or save:

titles, notes, URLs, and copied text
images, documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, presentations, or other files
content shared from other apps into Just Reference
categories, tags, groups, and other organisation details
notification dates, times, and optional location reminder details
backup ZIP files that you export or import
AI settings such as an API endpoint, model name, and API key if you choose to configure AI suggestions

3. How Your Information Is Used

Your information is used to provide App features, including:

saving references and files in your personal library
showing previews and opening saved items for review
searching and filtering by text, category, tag, group, and file type
copying or sharing saved content to other apps when you choose to do so
suggesting categories, tags, and groups
checking for possible duplicate references
scheduling time-based or location-based notifications
exporting or importing local backup ZIP files when you choose to do so

4. Local Storage

Just Reference stores your saved references, organisation details, notification settings, app preferences, and stored files locally on your device.

Files shared into Just Reference may be copied into the App's private local storage so that they remain available inside your personal library.

We do not operate a server that automatically receives or stores your saved references, files, tags, groups, categories, or notification details.

5. Sharing and Opening Content

You can share content from other apps into Just Reference. You can also copy, open, or share saved content from Just Reference to other apps such as messaging, email, cloud storage, or browser apps.

These actions are initiated by you. Once content is opened or shared with another app or service, that app or service handles the content according to its own privacy policy and terms.

6. Backups

The App lets you export and import backup ZIP files. A backup may contain your saved references, metadata, tags, groups, categories, notification settings, and locally stored files.

Backup export and import actions are controlled by you. You are responsible for where you save, upload, send, or store exported backup files, including any cloud service that you select.

7. AI Suggestions

Just Reference can suggest categories, tags, and groups. The App includes local rule-based suggestions, and may also allow optional AI-powered suggestions if you choose to configure an AI provider.

If you enable external AI suggestions and provide an API endpoint and API key, relevant reference text, titles, URLs, and metadata may be sent to the AI provider you configure so that suggestions can be generated.

Use of an external AI provider is optional and is subject to that provider's privacy policy, data handling terms, and charges. You should avoid sending sensitive personal, legal, medical, financial, or confidential information to an AI provider unless you understand and accept that provider's terms.

8. Notifications and Location

If you enable notifications, the App may request notification permission so it can show reminders for saved references.

If you enable location-based notifications, the App may request location permission and use device geofencing features to notify you when you are near a location that you configured.

Location information is used on your device to support the reminder feature. Just Reference does not upload your location history to EPM Dynamics.

9. Permissions

The App may request Android permissions that support features you choose to use, including:

notification permission for reminders
file or media access through Android's picker or sharing system
location permission for location-based notifications
alarm or device reboot handling so scheduled notifications can continue to work
internet access for optional AI suggestions, ads, billing, support links, or external pages

10. Advertising and Purchases

Just Reference may include adverts in the free version and may offer paid options such as removing adverts or unlocking additional features.

Advertising may be provided by third-party services such as Google AdMob. Purchases may be processed by Google Play Billing. These services may collect or process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

11. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share your saved references, files, tags, categories, groups, or notification details with third parties for marketing purposes.

Information may be shared only when you choose to share, export, open, or process content through another app, external service, AI provider, cloud provider, advertising provider, billing provider, or platform service.

12. Children's Privacy

Just Reference is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Data Retention

Because core App data is stored locally, it remains on your device until you edit or delete references, delete stored files, clear App data, delete exported backups, or uninstall the App.

14. Security

We aim to minimise unnecessary data collection and keep your personal reference library on your device. However, no device storage, app storage, backup file, cloud storage, or network transmission method is completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your device, your exported backup files, and any API keys or cloud accounts that you configure.

15. Your Choices

You may:

edit or delete saved references
add, rename, hide, or delete categories, tags, and groups where allowed
turn notifications on or off
disable location-based notifications
disable or remove AI provider settings
delete local backup ZIP files
clear App data or uninstall the App

16. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on platform or third-party services, including Android, Google Play, Google Play Services, Google Play Billing, Google AdMob, file pickers, maps or navigation apps, cloud storage apps, sharing targets, email apps, browser apps, and optional AI providers that you configure.

Use of these services is subject to the privacy policies and terms of the relevant providers.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date shown above.

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
